Community Case Study | Florence Street, Teneriffe
In February 2020, Frank Developments co-hosted a successful community event at our development site at 5 Florence Street to gather feedback from residents and business owners regarding the proposed beautification of this vibrant local streetscape.
The event was held in collaboration with the Teneriffe Progress Association, Bluebird Property Partners and Form Landscape Architecture, and collected valuable opinions and insights into how the Teneriffe community would like to see in their local neighbourhood boulevard evolve.
Culture
A desire to celebrate local artists and designers through the introduction of contemporary public art, connecting culture to place.
Eco
The need for more public bins to enhance pride and respect for the Teneriffe environment.
Safety
Traffic reduction and lighting to enhance safety and street appeal.
By taking the time to engage and understand of our community, we’ve been able to design with their needs and wishes top of mind. This transformative, collaborative approach takes the guesswork out of good design and instils the character and drive of a community within the design and development process. More so, it builds enduring relationships which are as just as important to our legacy as the environments we create.
“It’s a very good initiative… to engage the community, rather than to just guess what we actually want. It’s a really positive thing and I think they’ve gone about it in a very professional way.”
- Ben Pritchard, President, Teneriffe Progress Association
